Ohio CPA Referral Service
For nearly 20 years, the Society has matched members of the public seeking professional accounting services with area CPA firms. It's simple and easy to use. Individuals looking for a CPA can:
Names, phone numbers and other additional information for CPA firms are provided to each phone in contact. The public can also find your firms contact information online 24 hours a day. Individuals are encouraged to contact firms in order to discuss the potential engagement.
To ensure the adequate distribution of firm names, the Society provides referrals on a rotating basis to those contacts that call in. This rotational basis is determined by the potential clients' needs and location. The Society also distributes a bi-weekly electronic updates via e-mail to participating firms with a list of those contacts that have been referred to them by phone. Unfortunately, firms cannot be advised of Web referrals at this time.
If your firm wishes to participate, your firm must:
- Be licensed by the state of Ohio to practice public accounting
- Have a partner or shareholder that is a member of the Society
- Sign a waiver of confidentiality to permit the Society to access necessary records from the Accountancy Board of Ohio and the Society's ethics and peer review committees in order to determine that your practice is in good standing and has no pending disciplinary actions
- Commit to offer up to a half-hour of consultation at no charge for every client referred to discuss the potential engagement (Your firm is not obligated, however, to accept an engagement from the referred party.)

The annual cost to participate as a firm in the referral service is as follows:
- $125 for a single firm location
- $200 for two locations
- $250 for three or more
