Ohio Society launches Centennial Campaign to celebrate 100th anniversary

Members contribute nearly $65,000 during Members Summit & Annual Meeting

In honor of its Centennial anniversary, The Ohio Society launched the public phase of “Investing in the Future...The Centennial Campaign to benefit The Ohio CPA Foundation,” during the Members Summit & Annual Meeting, June 12, in Columbus.  Centennial Campaign Chair Jerry Esselstein, CPA, reminded the nearly 500 CPAs in attendance, “This profession has given you so much – it’s now time to give back.”

With an overall goal of $1.5 million, the campaign will raise $1 million in endowment funds for future needs and $500,000 to support and expand current Foundation programs. During the earlier, quiet phase of the campaign, the Centennial Campaign Steering Committee raised $925,000 through one-on-one meetings with CPA firms and individuals. Combined with contributions at the Summit, the campaign has already topped the $1 million mark in gifts and pledges.

The Ohio CPA Foundation funds programs that are focused in two areas:

    • Ensuring a full pipeline of future CPAs
    • Educating Ohio consumers on how to achieve financial independence
    • Promoting a healthy and vigorous CPA profession into the next century by driving awareness, understanding and support for the role and work of CPAs

“I encourage you to give a gift that is meaningful,” Esselstein said during the campaign announcement. Many firms have already made their mark by making an investment in the campaign. “We are deeply grateful to these firms for their early and enthusiastic support,” he said. “We invite every Ohio Society member to join the campaign. Each gift is an investment in the future of many lives.”
